What riders love
  • Every hill lifts you out of your seat for a good few seconds, especially that first hill, which gives at least 5 seconds of airtime.
  • I got such long sustained floater airtime on that first hill and I couldn't believe how long it lasted.
  • Every hill lifts you out of your seat from before the crest until you hit the valley, with everything from floater to ejector.
  • The first drop gives that great combination of floater air and a stomach dropping sensation, that B&M drops do so well.
  • The first drop feels much longer than it actually is and really impressive for only being slightly over 210 feet tall.
  • The ride hauls down the first hill, which felt a bit bigger and steeper than other B&M hypers and the subsequent camelback and helix were fantastic.
  • It's a ride that everyone can enjoy, it's smooth as chocolate, and it deserves the hype
  • Just buttery smooth. Her restraints are some of the nicest I've ever had the pleasure of meeting.
  • It's glass-smooth in a way B&M seems to be having trouble achieving lately.

Performance

Vs. other coasters at Hersheypark

While it’s a short ride, Candymonium still brings multiple moments of floater airtime that keep you out of your seat for multiple seconds.

Keystone Coasters

This ride has a fantastic first drop, the airtime hills never disappoint even with the trim brakes, and the speed hill is the best part!

Joey Leary

Speed hill gives a nice pop of ejector, but the helix pulls 0 forces, however, the outerbank laterally ejects you from the train.

Ajani J.

The first drop and following hill are great moments of sustained floater but then the rest of the ride does nothing.

Carter Eckhart

It feels wrong to call that the second half when there is little to no airtime or force in that entire section.

Ben I

I thought it’d be near something like Diamondback at Kings Island, but although it is buttery smooth, it is forceless and not intense at all.

Carter Seitz

Since I’m a bit of a bigger person, I thought it would be uncomfortable for me, but I had no discomfort what so ever.

Evan Moran

Whether it’s the amazing floater airtime, insane first drop, or smooth, flowy layout, I have always been a bigger fan of Candymonium than most.

Anthony DeNight Jr.

Thrilling overall, with much airtime and comfort, but lacks better elements and key features for a b&m hyper.

Austin Gonzalez Rodriguez

My only con is that it had a noticeable rattle, even though I rode it only 2 months after opening.

Ben Lilly

You’ll also find positives strong enough to cause graying in the first helix, and other strong moments in the hammerhead and second helix.

Racc Hudson

The first drop is super intense, as well as the first airtime hill, after that it’s a very fun, smooth, and pleasant (albeit less forceful) ride on its long layout.

Matt Rappaport

Candymonium is a great ride for people like my friend who wants to try to break the 200ft height barrier without a super intense ride like Skyrush.

Aric The Kakapo

It’s a very relaxing ride, but was not at all what I expected it to be like.

Carter Seitz

The ride hauls down the first hill, which felt a bit bigger and steeper than other B&M hypers and the subsequent camelback and helix were fantastic.

Sean Reardon

And i rode this at 3pm so it was running pretty fast.

A unknown man FAce

Candymonium’s drop is very good and the first and third hills have some good floater, but the trim breaks kill most airtime on the second and fourth hills.

Beau

Like Diamondback the outward leg has some great floater air and then the trim decides you’ve had enough fun.

Bryan Bonafede

on top of that, i have noticed it has some of the best operations in the entire park ever since it opened, making rerides much easier.

smacd

Overall this ride is insane and I was able to marathon it when I went last time due to the quick dispatches and high capacity trains.

Isaiah White

It was the last new coaster I rode at Hershey because of the line, but after 4 pm this doesn’t get more than a 45 minute wait.

Bubble Gaming

I know it’s front and center at an extremely popular park but a B&M hyper should never have 2-3 hour lines - the stacking on this coaster is hilariously inept.

Bryan Bonafede

Also the ride is decently short and for a ride that short and running 3 trains it should have way better capacity.

Dylan O'Neill
Height fear

the drop is scary at first but it’s lots of fun

@jasonsings9632

Candy looks intimidating, but it’s a great coaster for friends and family who are anxious to do anything too intense - looks big and scary, is actually gentle and lovely.

As long as you hit Candymonium on a warm day after 3pm, it’s is a solid B&M Hyper with great moments of sustained flojector.

uhhh roller coasters, Captain Coaster review

Great for "going to the park so lets go on a coaster" but isn’t making me want multiple rerides outside of the first drop.

Honey Bee, Captain Coaster review

I’ll call it where I see it: this is by far and away the worst hyper I’ve done.

Maddux, Captain Coaster review

The location is great it’s at the front so the line is filled fast but the warp around the fountain makes it great just to see from the ground.

Alexander Shaffer, Captain Coaster review

I finally rerode this, this year aswell and honestly I thought it was disappointing before and I stand by that.

Aidan, Captain Coaster review

We slipped right through the line :) the ride rattled like crazy.
