What riders love
  • Forceful launch straight into a forceful helix is a great start.
  • But then you launch into a dark tunnel that is really disorienting and tons of fun.
  • The launch into the big helix is a great moment and the second launch into the building is a highlight as well.
  • A lot of fun, but this is more of a thrill coaster than a family coaster!
  • The launches are nice and I like the theming, the initial double helix, and the indoor portion.
  • I used to marathon this ride because I was too scared to ride the bigger ones.
  • shockingly intense first helix on this thing, almost greyed out on it on a few rides.
  • This thing made me grey out on the helix, and besides Intimidator 305 which I rode later in the day there’s no other coaster that I’ve greyed out on.
  • Having constantly been told that this is just a family coaster, I went into this with low hopes, but the first launch and the surprisingly forceful triple helix alone made me really enjoy this ride.

Performance

Vs. other coasters at Kings Dominion

The rest of the ride is enjoyable with the launch before the tunnel making the swooped indoor drop feel somewhat intense and I got some airtime on the drop out of the tunnel.

Coaster Nerds

After the tunnel, there’s a weirdly good airtime pop, a turn, and then the brake run.

roller rider

There is a surprise pop of airtime in the back of the train going under the bridge though.

Alexander M.

I think there should be more airtime and im not sure how long it will last after the 2025 season.

Alayna McGull

The transitions on this one are smooth enough to be enjoyable and parts of the ride are surprisingly intense.

Michael M.

I went on this thinking it was a normal family coaster and, it was but that first helix is so rough and forceful I almost blacked out.

Baby Man

The indoor section is actually my favorite part, but the dive under the queue afterwards is pretty rough on the neck.

MapleFlakes

This thing made me grey out on the helix, and besides Intimidator 305 which I rode later in the day there’s no other coaster that I’ve greyed out on.

Bubble Gaming

...the actual rollercoaster itself may not be the most spectacular in the world (although there are a few intense moments), the special effects really make Backlot Stunt Coaster into a much better ride.

Theme Park James

It feels too intense for a family coaster.

Henry Japha

Fun little launch and the helix is pretty intense, very shaky ride with bad trains though.

Alexander M.

It’s not really memorable, it’s sort of a small family coaster with some theming and a light launch at the beginning.

David

I only rode it once, but I much prefer the one at Kings Dominion, it was noticeably faster than the one at Kings Island, and the fire effects actually worked!

@richey0995

It’s neither fast nor furious, and the first half of this ride is more like watching “My Dinner With Andre” at half-speed, but it picks up in the second half.

The Real E-Rock

I will note that I found the drop up until the second launch to be a bit of a dead spot, but everything else is fantastic.

Mason Newton

We waited over one hour for it tho, which was kinda not worth it.

Aric The Kakapo

It also always has a very long line.

Michael M., Captain Coaster review

People always told me that these backlot clones were some of the best family coasters but this coaster really didn’t do much for me.

Carter Eckhart, Captain Coaster review

shockingly intense first helix on this thing, almost greyed out on it on a few rides.

Jamie Óchi, Captain Coaster review

This thing made me grey out on the helix, and besides Intimidator 305 which I rode later in the day there’s no other coaster that I’ve greyed out on.

Theme Park James, published review

enjoyed it slightly more than the Canada Wonderland version...but all the bells and whistles were missing.
