What riders love
  • It was a unique experience to other coasters I've ridden and gave you that feeling of being out of control since you're sliding down a slide in these heavy train cars.
  • That Bobsled nature make you feel exposed in the helixes, which gives it some thrill.
  • Unique that you can have two riders in the same seat and unique that it’s a bob sled style ride.
  • But it pulled more positive forces than I was expecting, especially the final helix. That surprised me big time.
  • A surprisingly intense little bobsled coaster.
  • genuinely kinda scary whenever this ride makes a turn lol
  • Reptilian is very long coaster that is also paced well.
  • But for the 2026 season, they appear to have turned off the midcourse brake run, which lets it absolutely RIP through the back half of the layout.

Performance

Vs. other coasters at Kings Dominion

Bobsled airtime is something that I promise you are not ready for - this was hauling in the back two rows.

uhhh roller coasters

It’s missing any type of force in my opinion since there is no opportunity for airtime and I don’t remember any lateral forces (possibly some on the tight helixes).

Max S.

Decently rattly but it didn’t feel uncomfortable.

angela

A lot of people complain about the vibration/rattle and while I will admit its not good, I can still appreciate this ride for what it is.

KingKidCobra

Makes for a pretty uncomfortable ride when the operator decides to force it down as far as possible into their stomach.

seth w.

It was surprisingly intense, and I still haven’t really wrapped my head around the concept and whether I like it or not.

Liam Dodds

But it pulled more positive forces than I was expecting, especially the final helix.

Sam M.

An underrated family-friendly coaster, just enough going on to thrill the little ones while not boring seasoned enthusiasts.

100DollarHeadache

It’s a good coaster for the young enthusiasts who want a taste of a big-time coaster.

Emerson Head

But for the 2026 season, they appear to have turned off the midcourse brake run, which lets it absolutely RIP through the back half of the layout.

uhhh roller coasters

really fun, we loved the bobsled setup (it makes me sad they are so rare!) and how it picks up speed as you go.

andrea

It has a lot of dead spots and the restraints aren’t comfortable, especially when riding without another person.

Shmee

The main problem is that it doesn’t feel like it gets going until the end of the ride, and feels like it could benefit from having a little more speed through the layout.

Caitlin Wilcox

I will say you’ll want to ride this by yourself because the seating is very awkward, but it gets short lines so this shouldn’t be too much of a problem.

Thunderbolt

While the layout is great, the ride is definitely too short for the long lines that it can get, and the lap bars are just terrible.

Mason Newton

runs questionably, and has some capacity issues, but this is very fun.

Jamie Óchi
Worth the queue

It just isn’t worth waiting that long in line as it is though.

Michael M.

If you can look past the stomach crushing restraints, then this is a decent coaster, and is definitely worth waiting for the credit.

This surprised me with its intensity, mainly due to the sustained positive Gs.

Michael M., Captain Coaster review

Extremely uncomfortable when you are the person sitting in the front as the restraints digs into your abdomen.

L B, Captain Coaster review

Initially I was glad the park took a chance on this rare type of coaster but after finishing the ride I thought it was mostly a wasted opportunity.

David, Captain Coaster review

Reptilian had very nice surprise for me when I first rode this, this coaster is very intense for a trackless type of coaster, the pace is very fast too, some discomfort in the seating arrangement tho.

Jakob Potter, Captain Coaster review

This ride is very complicated, This ride was a bit overhyped in my mind but I still had a fun time.

Bryce Blanch, Captain Coaster review

It will never break any records, but it accomplishes exactly what it set out to do: provide a pleasant, charming, and delightfully fun family coaster to Kings Dominion.
