What riders love
  • First launch into a tight upward helix to start the ride always gets a reaction from me.
  • this introduced me to launches and i've ridden this 14 or 15 times.
  • That first launch into a helix is pretty intense for a family coaster.
  • Am a sucker for ride cars that look like cars (and they remind me of a defunct coaster I like so makes it better).
  • You’re also riding small cars resembling Mini Coopers, which recalls the source material.
  • Queen City Stunt Coaster is incredibly themed, and a very fun family coaster.
  • Sure it might not be the best out there, but it's super fun, forceful, good for the family, and entertaining.
  • This is a standout family coaster and one of the best out there.
  • Fun fun fun fun fun.

Performance

Vs. other coasters at Kings Island

I still find the intensity on these a bit overrated, but the launches are fun and their is some fun and surprising moments of airtime and laterals.

Carter Eckhart

...time I rode it i was underwhelmed but now that I rode it again I finally got that punchy launch and the intense upwards helix and surprisingly some ejector airtime btw I’m writing this on 5/17/26

Logan Boulis

The actual ride is great; punchy launches, a forceful helix, some decent airtime, good theming, and an awesome indoor section.

CoasterKing

I actually like backlot as it has a really intense initial helix, some pretty good airtime moments as well as some cool and actually working theming elements as well as an indoor section and...

Cooper Zimmerman

And while there may be a few pops of airtime here and there, they are no where near significant enough to warrant a reride.

I'm NotHere

I always try to ride this everytime I go, and I think it’s the smoothest coaster in the park.

Preston Koeninger

Just a nice, smooth ride, that packs a punch to those not expecting it.

Ben E. Boise

But on my one ride I got thrown around into the hard sides of the train on a few moments which definitely killed the experience.

Arrow Die-Namics

The hard plastic seats are terrible and I just kept getting thrashed around smashing my arms and sides into hard plastic.

CoasterBroCam

The initial launch is fun and the Gs are great, but the only other part of the ride that’s worthwhile is towards the end going through the tunnel.

Megan Isovitsch

The transitions are wayy too violent for my tastes.

Alessandra

Sure it might not be the best out there, but it’s super fun, forceful, good for the family, and entertaining.

Preston Koeninger

Next up is a deceptive coaster that packs a bigger punch than you might expect.

Dan Heaton

While not the most exciting ride in the world, it’s still a lot of fun.

Incredible Coasters

My main problem is that you stop at the "show" area for too long to see a helicopter "shoot" at you (which is just some lights flashing).

Wesley Flowers

It’s pretty similar to the one at Kings Dominion, but I got the feeling that it runs a bit slower.

Michael M.

The problem is I got stuck on the brake run midway through for over a minute, which means the capacity was terrible.

Max S.

I accidentally waited 30 minutes for this ride last time and it’s not worth that.

The cinematic experience is a bit trite but endearing, and there are some nice moments of high intensity, so definitely worth a ride.

Taylor Williams, Captain Coaster review

I get that it’s a family coaster but the launch was quite weak, the helix was intense but not as much as I expected.

Hsh Sbbsbs, Captain Coaster review

You start out with a pretty punchy launch out of the station then you get thrown into a tight helix and this was the first time i have grayed out on a family coaster.

ArieForce One Glazer, Captain Coaster review

The stunts were all working and it made a huge difference compared to my home park’s version at Kings Dominion.

David, Captain Coaster review

First launch into a tight upward helix to start the ride always gets a reaction from me.

Mike Davis, Captain Coaster review

A sharp banked transition leads into a tight and forceful helix that makes no bones about this ride not being fir the faint of heart, but then it seems to die into a tame experience.
