“Solid B&M Hyper with plenty of floater airtime.”

What riders love
  • The two camelbacks in the far end of the ride give some incredible sustained floater. This ride also has a bunch of bunny hills at the end which each give awesome airtime.
  • The finale of airtime hills is very good, giving very strong floater over the 3 hills before hitting the final breaks.
  • A phenomenal B&M hyper with some of the best floater airtime I've experienced.
  • Great floater airtime along with really, REALLY comfortable restraints. (seriously, these lap bars are masterpieces)
  • This is my first time with these clamshell lap bars, and they are extremely comfortable and provide an open-air experience.
  • Most comfortable seats on any coaster like what?
  • Get ready for that helix! Its gs made me gray out.
  • The spiral near the end of the ride is very intense, however. Ridiculous amount of force, blacked out every time I went through it.
  • Now this helix is intense. I was shocked by it.

Performance

Vs. other coasters at Six Flags Great Adventure

Packing a great first drop, sweet floater airtime hills, and a wildly-intense helix, there are very few negatives to be said regarding Nitro.

Anthony DeNight Jr.

Nitro is probably the most intense B&M hyper I’ve ridden and the great sense of speed through the woods in the back of the park and tons of solid floater make this a really long and fun coaster.

Cooper Zimmerman

This ride has some of the best airtime that I have ever experienced, and pulls some decent positives on the helix before the brake run.

Andrew T

Solid B&M Hyper with plenty of floater airtime.

Chermaine Streppel

On Nitro however, the airtime is much less abundant.

Coaster Critic

This is my first time with these clamshell lap bars, and they are extremely comfortable and provide an open-air experience.

Erik C.

However it’s a very smooth and comfortable ride so it’s a great monorail.

Carter Eckhart

The first time I rode it was at night and I thought it was incredible with great speed, smoothness and just a ton of fun.

Casey Maymon

The lap bars are super comfy and unrestrictive, leading to glorious floater airtime moments on its many camelbacks.

Clayton Latone

That was so rough because you’re in the air when it comes and hits that brake.

ThemeParkMark

I also really like the helix before the midcourse block section, because you gray out as the train is navigating through the upward spiral helix.

Nicolas Mattioli

Probably one of the middle of the road hypers by B&M the two highlights I would say are the first drop and the intense helix that comes after the several Camelback Hills.

Sean Matrai

Ridiculous amount of force, blacked out every time I went through it.

Maeve N.

While it does have good intensity, it has an unoriginal layout and average airtime for a B&M hyper.

Stephen Barr

The airtime is severely lackluster, the ride is trimmed to death, and most of the ride is far too graceful.

Justin Lininger

B&M hypers may not always be the most intense but in the back row the helix and turns were fast and intense, all while being exceptionally smooth.

Oscar Pinchbeck

The sense of speed on this is easily the best in the park and the you only get that in the front.

CoasterKing

It also had solid ride length and kept great pace after the midcourse.

Melondrew

Sadly, the middle course break run and the weak hills to the end make a quite bad finale, but Nitro is definitely worth riding

Xander Neagoe

It was a little slow, but it paid off in the end.

Coaster Crusader

This one is worth re-ride after re-ride, which you’ll probably be able to get with how lightning quick the ops are on this thing.

Evangelion Martini

This is a capacity monster, the most I’ve ever waited for this was 20 minutes on a busy weekend in may.

NOOB LEGEND

Incredible airtime, helix lived up to hype, and ops were locked in with three trains when I was there.

Brandon Gorgone

The ops do really well with loading and unloading and the line moves quite fast.

Clayton Latone

Towards the end of the day the loading was getting slow but overall still a very try good ride.

Zach Arner
Height fear

The lift hill gives you sufficient time to regret your life decisions and the first drop is awesome.

Håkon Hapnes Strand

I remember being really scared in the line for the first time, but once that first drop came; I was screaming with joy.

Weak theming

Ride Nitro on a good day and I swear you get three seconds of strong floater on every single camelback.

Ethan, Captain Coaster review

This coaster pulls absolutely zero force and feels like it will valley on most of the hills.

Carter Eckhart, Captain Coaster review

Probably one of the middle of the road hypers by B&M the two highlights I would say are the first drop and the intense helix that comes after the several Camelback Hills.

Sean Matrai, Captain Coaster review

I need a re-ride to serve as a refresher for me, but if my memory from almost 20 years serves me correctly, we pulled some serious G’s on this thing.

The Real E-Rock, Captain Coaster review

Nitro is still a great roller coaster that deserves the attention and accolades it receives.

Coaster Critic, published review

Nitro is probably the most intense B&M hyper I’ve ridden and the great sense of speed through the woods in the back of the park and tons of solid floater make this a really long and fun coaster.
