What riders love
  • I'm not exactly sure how to describe this feeling, but it almost felt like the pull-outs of nearly every inversion had a small pop of airtime, which is something I haven't experienced on this model before.
  • My favorite part of this ride is probably the zero-G roll since it delivers some great hangtime and pulls great whip!
  • The Immelmanns and snake rolls have excellent hangtime to them.
  • A very fun floorless coaster and it never gets old from start to finish!
  • My go-to ride, so comfortable, so floaty
  • First ride of the day for us, and we rode twice without unbuckling between.
  • The intense inversions, especially that sea serpent in the middle, made me consider this ride a favourite.
  • Not too intense but no slouch either as it’s still very forceful, especially that zero g roll.
  • Rode in the front row and was honestly one of the more intense rides in the park.

Vs. other coasters at Six Flags Great Adventure

...exactly sure how to describe this feeling, but it almost felt like the pull-outs of nearly every inversion had a small pop of airtime, which is something I haven’t experienced on this model before.

MapleFlakes

My go-to ride, so comfortable, so floaty

Alex B

I was surprised to get a solid pop of airtime on a floorless.

IronChef C.

The climb up doesn’t really do much, but the flip at the top will once again give a little bit of float for those towards the back.

Coaster Boss

Ridiculously smooth, amazing inversions over the roller element towards the back, picture perfect entrance, and decently long duration.

Sam Valligny

Literally just Scream at SFMM without the painful rattle and with significantly better scenery.

Kellen Grady

The trains itself also very much help the experience, they aren’t too bulky as old B&Ms tend to be, and they give some good comfort during the layout.

smacd

It’s very smooth and has a great variety of fun inversions as well, but some of the inversions lack as much intensity as you’d think.

Matt Rappaport

In 2020 and this year it’s been very shaky especially in the front there is one moment of this coaster that really bothers me it’s the turn into the mid course break run I hate

@ThrillsofColdplay

Lots of fun when its running well, but it can have a rattle in the outer seats and sometimes crawls through the layout in the back half.

Emma

Medusa is also one of the better looking ever built with its cool layout, some snappy inversions, really intense moments, really good pacing, and some great add-on effects.

Nicolas Mattioli

Rode in the front row and was honestly one of the more intense rides in the park.

Steve Dawson

Not too intense but no slouch either as it’s still very forceful, especially that zero g roll.

Brandon Boris

The ride is also full of heavy positives that may make you grey out.

CoasterKing

It isn’t nearly as intense as some of its peers, but the layout has a fantastic duration and a bunch of really fun and varied inversions.

MapleFlakes

The ride is not as crazy as it looks, but still a lot of fun.

Håkon Hapnes Strand

It flies through it’s layout so smoothly and gracefully.

symical coaster

Medusa just hauls now, it’s such a better ride!

@FilMauve

This has to do partly with the fact that the midcourse brings it pretty close to a stop, and also that there isn’t much going out.

CoasterKing

Then you kinda meander around after the midcourse and there is a tiny bit of headbanging.

Caiden Brauchler

It doesn’t have a long line either and is the only big coaster in the park (other than Kingda Ka) that can accommodate plus size individuals.

Vinnie T

The operations were absolutely fantastic when I was there, running three trains and keeping the stacking to a minimum.

Erik C.

Medusa is a great floorless coaster in the left corner of the park and usually does not have long lines because of this.

Clayton Latone

Medusa is an awesome ride with great theming and usually short wait times given its location in the back of the park.

Matt Rappaport

Oh and even better is the line is never too long as the capacity and throughput of this ride is amazing.

Brandon Boris
Height fear

At one point I thought I was going to fall straight to my death.

shawn

I was scared at first, cursing and thinking I couldn’t handle it because of the height.

Emily Y.

Should I ride it?

I’m not sure whether I like this or Superman at Fiesta Texas more, but it’s one of my favorite floorless coasters overall.

Kw6sTheater, Captain Coaster review

The dive loop and zero-g roll are the highlights, both whippy inversions that will get you out of your seat (especially the zero-g roll).

CoasterKing, Captain Coaster review

The inversions are fun, it has a good layout, and when the effects are working it adds to the experience.

Brendan Keller, Captain Coaster review

Lots of fun when its running well, but it can have a rattle in the outer seats and sometimes crawls through the layout in the back half.

Emma, Captain Coaster review

Moving efficiently from element to element, this ride turns you upside down smoothly early and often.

Jackie ODoyle, Captain Coaster review

Medusa was nothing new to me as I had already ridden Scream many times before this, but I appreciated the extra theming on this version.
