no coaster makes me giggle quite like Magnum
What riders love
  • The old-school Arrow triangular hills deliver airtime unlike that of today's meticulously calculated pops of airtime.
  • Best raw airtime you can find on a coaster.
  • Other than that, I highly recommend as you really feel out of your seat on those airtime hills.
  • Those final bunny hills is my favorite finale of all time.
  • My favorite part of the ride is the finale with the triangle hills, because of how violent the airtime is!
  • I rode it around the middle, and the first half was kinda intense, but the second half… I don’t think I’ve screamed on a coaster that hard in a long, long time.
  • When I rode it in 2026 I could see lightning over the lake and it was pure art.
  • Also, it’s beautiful at night - it’s positioned right on Lake Erie, and the lights coming out of the last tunnel are very visually appealing!
  • What a view when you begin cresting the lift hill!

Performance

Vs. other coasters at Cedar Point

It does have a little shaky spots but it adds to it I love at the end every hill you go over preping yourself for the force of the airtime.

Jimbob Coasters

The drop is incredibly exciting, with a lot of airtime, making riders feel like they’re floating as they fall.

Insiders of the Point

They’re just straight up triangles, and they’re so insanely powerful that they genuinely hurt, and my thighs were sore after I got off.

Eli Lassiter Michael

I do remember the incredible view, and some great airtime, but until I can get a reride, it’s one of my lower ranked coasters.

Ben Lilly

Some of the airtime hills pull absolutely no force at all.

Nick Vilagi

She’s tall, she’s fast, she’s reasonably smooth - until you get to the jank transition into the turnaround and remember that pre-CAD Arrow built this ride.

Jackie ODoyle

It may smash our thighs, but it’s so worth it for the amazing airtime the ride produces.

Incredible Coasters

I found that if you ride in the back row, you still feel the insane ejector airtime, however, the ride is not as janky as if you ride in row 3.

Finn V.

This is a very fun and suprisingly intense ride, and my phone flew out of my pocket while riding it; had to get a new one but it was lowkey my fault.

Anthony Dale Castro

This thing is rough and has super wacky profiling, making for a super rough and intense layout.

Eli Lassiter Michael

Overall, I thought this coaster was good but just a bit too much for me.

Lightning Productions

I wish it weren’t so rough so that I could enjoy the aggressive airtime more.

Austin L.

This ride definitely requires a lot of experience as it is very intense, however, if you look past the jank, really really fun.

Finn V.

But the rider is very forcefull and a lot of fun.

Micha Tirion

The first half of the ride is pretty great with how fast and jerky it is, but the last airtime hills are just plain painful.

Tobin Billings

The pretzel turn around is fun and the burst of speed when you leave it is pretty surprising.

Coaster Critic

This thing just doesn’t stop dropping because of its intense hills and incredible speeds.

Gavin Baez

The train is moving so fast, it feels like you’re about to dive right into the water!

Insiders of the Point

The only complaint is that there are some dead spots and the lap bar isn’t the best but overall it’s an absolutely incredible ride

Inverted Thrills

Magnum had a good first drop and good airtime, however both of them are taken down a notch by the lap bar and rattle, additionally, it has a few dead spots.

Evosioa

Blasting through tunnels as you are being violently ejected gives me a thrill like no other and I always find myself back in line which is usually a walk on.

Finn V.

It was our go-to coaster because it often had short lines while there were long waits elsewhere.

Coaster Nut

You could go on this as many times as you want because the line is practically non existent.

Emma

Plus it usually doesn’t have a very long line.

Incredible Coasters

1989.....4 hour wait at least= Rollar Coaster Heaven!!!!!!.....tallest, scariest coaster in the world and before youtube, the cool thing was that in line you couldnt even see the track until u...

There are some great airtime moments throughout and it’s layout right up against Lake Eerie is really awesome.

Jack Jack J., Captain Coaster review

I didn’t enjoy xl 200 at all first of at the first drop it felt like it was going the fall apart and the only reason why it’s not one is cause I like the theme of it

Jack Theone, Captain Coaster review

I wasn’t disappointed when I first rode this because I was transitioning into an enthusiast and I didn’t know too much about Magnum but I’d call it overrated.

Mr. Roller Coasters, Captain Coaster review

This ride is amazing, and while the triangle hills are always incredible on my most recent ride I found the first half to be quite weak.

Hsh Sbbsbs, Captain Coaster review

I wish I would’ve listened to the advice because on my trip to Cedar Point, Magnum stole the show.

Coaster Critic, published review

Y’all I’m sorry, I know these ratings are opinionated, but this is the most overrated coaster I have ever been on.
