What riders love
  • The best part about this ride is when you hang over the drop before you plummet down.
  • You ride Valravn for the first drop.
  • Unlike many of the other coasters, it's not trying to be something crazy innovative or intense, it's just a flat out good ride with arguably the best first drop in the park.
  • First drop is obviously killer, but that Zero G roll is very underrated too.
  • I loved the drop, the first Immelmann and the sideways airtime you get on the zero-g-winder.
  • The first and second drops give great back row airtime, the inversions are all smooth with wonderful hangtime, and there are a couple moments of floater air in the second half.
  • I love this ride, the first drop it is a rush, plus the hang time to see the whole park and all of the rollercoasters from the air is a highlight.
  • It has a great first drop and a great location that gives you spectacular views of the park.
  • It doesn't need to be the most intense, it's just a fun ride with great views.

Performance

Vs. other coasters at Cedar Point

I prefer the new restraints over the bulky older ones on Sheikra and Griffon (I still got enough airtime and had a new sensation of freedom with these vests).

Heiko Hartmann

I loved the drop, the first Immelmann and the sideways airtime you get on the zero-g-winder.

Beau

That said, the ride itself has some good floater airtime and good inversions

BLITZN00DLE

I can see that they tried to make an airtime hill, but I don’t think that ANYONE in the entire existence of this ride has left their seat.

Dylan JM

Once again, you get zero airtime, meaning that the first drop is rendered useless.

Coaster World

The inversions are plenty smooth enough, but don’t generate intensity; largely because they cannot snap roll with their size.

Dave Scott

Its track is exceptionally smooth, and when it opened in May 2016, it helped the park break 10 world records!

Insiders of the Point

Personally, I’m not the biggest fan of the traditional over the shoulder restraints, and I found this ride to be an overall very comfortable and smooth experience.

Basil Robinson

An underrated gem at such a loaded park, it’s drop is intense and it’s really smooth, this gets overlooked by most enthusiasts but I think this is top 5 at Cedar Point.

Adrian Sokol

...good but not as fun as it looks its kinda lame and you fell like your going to die half way in the ride and my mom had a headache because of the high g-force on it and the restraints hurt on the drop.

anikin

Plus this ride is the only B&M I’ve ridden that I noticed a strong rattle on which is saying a lot since I’ve ridden north of 40 of them.

Inverted Thrills

Went into it expecting it to be mid but I was surprised by it’s intensity and inversions and diving mechanism and it’s just one big steaming pile of awesome.

roller rider

The first drop is genuinely scary, but the immelman right after makes me black out every time, often giving me a headache?

Millan B.

But overall it was an enjoyable and quite forcefull coaster.

Micha Tirion

The drop and view is better in the front but, it i pretty forceful in the back

@coastx6140

I thought this would be a good ride, but after the first drop, there are no more forces outside of some small vertical Gs and the ride is one of the shortest at the park.

George A.

Unlike many of the other coasters, it’s not trying to be something crazy innovative or intense, it’s just a flat out good ride with arguably the best first drop in the park.

Coaster Carl

Also, those big immelmann inversions gives the ride a little life to it and it’s incredible speed for such a monstrous coaster.

Gavin Baez

Especially in the front row, the feeling of speed and exposure is great and the inversions are welcome additions to the layout.

Theme Park James

The slow, dull midcourse), Valravn sports an elite first drop, an incredible hangtime roll towards the end, and a smooth, fast, & fun ride experience the whole way through.

Anthony DeNight Jr.

After the drop, the entire coaster is one big dead spot, with a few intense pullouts in between.

Aric The Kakapo

Such a great ride and waits times are super reasonable generally, although the front row spoils you… hard to ride anywhere else after that.

Alex Goering

In fact, I make this the very last ride I go on because by 9:50, not many people are in line and it has a pretty good night ride with the lights and the view.

Bubble Gaming

Unfortunately the wait time is more than average, and the ride is very short.

Jordan Dwyer

But I waited 2 hours, which was ridiculous.

J&B FitzTubeKidz
Height fear

The first drop didn’t even feel that high or anything.

Zac AJ

This is the scariest first drop I’ve ridden, especially in the front row.

Chris Frechette

Should I ride it?

Probably my favorite dive coaster, but extremely close with Griffon.

Alessandra, Captain Coaster review

The first drop, in reality, provides surprisingly weak air, is only thrilling because of the trademark train-hanging-over-the-edge trick.

I'm NotHere, Captain Coaster review

I love this ride, the first drop it is a rush, plus the hang time to see the whole park and all of the rollercoasters from the air is a highlight.

Raymond Jackson, Captain Coaster review

The vertical drops are certainly good, but overall the ride doesn’t manage to evoke the distinct "dive coaster"-esque feeling of other versions of the type.

Theme Park James, published review

It is not too bad, but I don’t know if I pushed down my restraint too far or something since the ride experience was pretty uncomfortable throughout.

Max B., Captain Coaster review

Though I prefer Yukon Striker over Valravn, but I thought that on the top is where you get some views of Lake Erie, which makes this ride still good.
