What riders love
  • It has a wonderful location in frontier town, located on Cedar Creek.
  • It also looks really nice over the water.
  • At the very least, it's a very good visual pairing with the lagoon it rests on top of.
  • The last helix is also quite forceful.
  • I also did like the helix as the finale!
  • The location over the water is the obvious highlight, but the finale actually pulled some fairly fun forces compared to the counterparts that I've been on.
  • The theming is also decent, especially the animatronic in the brake run, that’s the best part of this ride.
  • The one upside is the ride has a bit of cute theming, mostly from a facelift in 2019 for its 50th anniversary.
  • It’s in a great part of the park in terms of theming.

Performance

Vs. other coasters at Cedar Point

It has a nice location on the water, however, and there can be some good airtime spots.

Henry H.

The turns are extremely janky, the trains are cramped, and the ride has no intensity or airtime.

Brendan B.

I don’t remember air time on this thing.

Coaster Curt's Commentary - Coaster Reviews & Info

Long ride which is nice and never has a wait, pretty smooth but has some classic Arrow transitions.

Niko Banfield

Instead, got only lift hills, straight track, and a couple janky turns in a car that’s uncomfortably small with a silly restraint system.

Shaggy U.

Maybe it is due to my young and flexible body, but the pain on this ride is the sort of pain that makes you look at the person in the cart next to you and smile!!

Caia Soup

The location over the water is the obvious highlight, but the finale actually pulled some fairly fun forces compared to the counterparts that I’ve been on.

MapleFlakes

By 2026 standards, Cedar Creek Mine Ride is considered a relatively tame ride.

Insiders of the Point

It’s not that good, do the other world class coasters in the area and do the other family coasters in the park if you want a mild thrill.

Bubble Gaming

I do like that it hits a decent speed compared to most I’ve ridden.

Max S.

A slow and relaxing ride, this is good if you need a cooldown, but as a ride, accomplishes next to nothing.

Jackie ODoyle

Slow, boring, and janky, but fun none the less.

Thunderbolt

Ride if you can handle a rough time with a short queue.

Caia Soup

Pretty long line too.

Millan B.

I wouldn’t really say tear it down or anything, I mean it’s a cute little ride where you can see pretty landscapes.

Emile P., Captain Coaster review

It was rattly and the transitions were pretty jerky, but that is to be expected and it was not too excessive.

Erik C., Captain Coaster review

Visually stunning because of its location over a creek but doesn’t do much.

Maybe it is due to my young and flexible body, but the pain on this ride is the sort of pain that makes you look at the person in the cart next to you and smile!!

Caia Soup, Captain Coaster review

By 2026 standards, Cedar Creek Mine Ride is considered a relatively tame ride.

Insiders of the Point, published review

The ride experience is actually rather enjoyable and, while janky, it isn’t painful the way Goldrusher was.
