What riders love
  • The ride has a fantastic layout when while your in the back row you can get some phenomal ejector airtime.
  • It’s so much more rideable and noticeably smoother, the airtime hills are fantastic.
  • The camelbacks had pretty good airtime even there and the rattling, while certainly present, was not enough to hurt me.
  • It also is perfectly located over the water and has a great color scheme.
  • Classic ride that is one of the most cosmetically pleasing coasters I’ve laid my eyes on. Gorgeous location.
  • Lots of fun airtime pops and located in a scenic section of the park.
  • Great classic woodie that’s smooth as ever now after the retrack.
  • I've ridden both forwards and backwards and it's a lot of fun either way.
  • It's quite a good night ride.

Vs. other coasters at Six Flags Over Georgia

The camelbacks had pretty good airtime even there and the rattling, while certainly present, was not enough to hurt me.

Michael M.

The last two or three short hills did provide some good airtime.

Coaster Critic

The ride has a fantastic layout when while your in the back row you can get some phenomal ejector airtime.

Kyle Marcus

So it has decent airtime...

Maddux

Unfortunately the actual ride was comparable to getting tossed around in a shopping cart, providing next to no airtime or forces besides pain.

Zach S.

The front gets no airtime into the element, but the turn has some fine laterals, and the resultant drop has a good pop of airtime in back.

Canobie Coaster

It’s so much more rideable and noticeably smoother, the airtime hills are fantastic.

Zachary Alexander Goitia

Scream Machine gave a bumpy ride, but it wasn’t approaching the painful jack-hammering roughness of other woodies.

Coaster Critic

I rode it once before everybody said it got better, and nine-year-old me remembers the headbanging I felt (see cons)(and yes, it actually did that).

Maddux

So its intense...

Maddux

The biggest issue is that coasters have simply gotten bigger and better over time, and poor Scream Machine is now rather "cute" in its drops and turns rather than intense.

Taylor Williams

Nice sense of speed in the second half.

Chris2626

And the first turn is really a stall spot, but the turnaround is great in that you continue to gain speed through the curve.

Richard Buman

As you’d expect for an older ride, the wait was pretty short.

Coaster Critic

Plus by the late 90’s it was practically a walk-on regardless of the park crowds.

@ingej003

This ride has always been a near walk-on for me.

Zachary Alexander Goitia, Captain Coaster review

This isn’t a bad wooden coaster but ever since they changed the trains to the hearts cyclone trains it just has been doing absolutely nothing.

Sheena Rodgers, Captain Coaster review

Whatever airtime was hanging around has definitely disappated over the years, but it still brings enough to the table to be enjoyable.

Bryan Bonafede, Captain Coaster review

does this coaster run like a shopping cart going down a hill made out of nothing but pebbles?

Jamie Óchi, Captain Coaster review

As you’d expect for an older ride, the wait was pretty short.

Coaster Critic, published review

I came out with little to no airtime (despite sitting in the second-to-back row) and no discomfort, despite a pretty present rattle.
