What riders love
  • The ride has some really cool light effects in the tunnels and on the skull facade at night, which really enhances the experience.
  • I love the rock formations around the loops, and the light up tunnel.
  • Also stepping onto the train does feel like you're taking a step back in time; Great America has wisely kept the original queue soundtrack, which is dated but in a charming way.
  • You are then hit with a couple of loops that aren't exactly back to back but still give you great sensation.
  • The double corkscrew is the best park of the ride, as to be expected.
  • some of the best hangtime i’ve had on an arrow coaster. on those corkscrews.
  • The theming is a nice touch and the first drop pulls surprising airtime - especially in the back row.
  • The first drop starts off with a violent but very short burst of airtime.
  • The first drop had some surprising ejector, and the following loops were funky.

Performance

Vs. other coasters at Six Flags Great America

The first drop has a great rush of airtime and the loops are tight and forceful, but those final inversions really leave a bad taste.

Leith Mascari

It’s kind of boring, first drop in the back actually gives some ejector, but the corkscrews Oml… it’s so horrible especially if your short but if you are over 5 11 you will be fine.

Tigran C.

The theming is a nice touch and the first drop pulls surprising airtime - especially in the back row.

JJ Vavrik

...but after that, the first drop is honestly pretty good, I liked it quite a bit with some ejector on the drop, you then go into 2 loops which are quite enjoyable and not very rough, but the...

Benjamin

My first looping coaster, the airtime off the first drop in the back was surprisingly sensational.

Adrian Sokol

The first drop had some surprising ejector, and the following loops were funky.

Birb from not Canada

I does ride smother than other AD rides, but still the overhead restraint style headbangs for shorter guests like my wife.

Richard Buman

I don’t have issues with my head banging side to side like many others do, but the track does rattle a lot, especially during the corkscrews.

Rollertoaster

there is a shit ton of head banging on this though, even for an arrow looper, and because of that, i enjoy it way less than i should

Jamie Óchi

Demon is a great classic ride, with two forceful vertical loops, two meh corkscrews, and a classic ghost/demon/spooky stuff theme.

Aric The Kakapo

Overall a fun ride with a couple classic inversions and a surprisingly intense double corkscrew at the end.

Jay Van Linden

Loops have decent G’s and there’s this random lateral kink but that’s about it.

Carter Eckhart

Then you turn and go into a very intense pair of double loops.

Caiden Brauchler

Would recommend as a first ride for kids/those scared of coasters.

Rudania Salamander

This is a short and slow ride that has the worst head-banging I’ve ever had.

Cooper

I rode the demon after the goliath and it felt so slow and boring

@ikimforever

No wonder there’s absolutely zero line & the trains usually leave with 2 or 3 people on them.

Kevin

I would definitely recommend this if it has a low line, which it almost always has.

Shy Guy Coasters

A good ride on paper and it never has a line.

Richard Buman, Captain Coaster review

The one spot that is really a killer is the transition into the first corkscrew--it really throws you sideways into your restraints.

Brian Sheldon, Captain Coaster review

As far as Arrow loopers go, the theming with the rockwork, lights, and goofy theme song definitely makes this one of the better ones.

Michael M., Captain Coaster review

A few years ago I would have rated it lower but it has undergone a refurbishment and many of the special effects have been restored!

Abby R., Captain Coaster review

But, it was almost overshadowed by my surprisingly fun rides on Demon. Riding decades-old Arrow loopers is generally an unenjoyable, ho-hum kind of experience where you’re happy to come away with a ride credit.

Coaster Critic, published review

It does have some decent theming, especially for a Six Flags coaster, but the restraints killed my shoulders, chest, and neck.
