Ride it: back row POV
Back row
a ride that always puts a smile on my face
What riders love
  • The start with the sideways vertical drop blows my mind every time. It is truly the best airtime moment I have ever experienced.
  • That first drop out of the station is one of the most bonkers thing attempted on any ride ever, especially at night where it becomes a total plunge into the darkness.
  • Getting a back row ride over that first drop is like the coaster yanking you down with it, it's incredible.
  • You can never have a normal ride on this because you might go on the drop forwards, backwards, or laterally.
  • I laughed throughout each ride because I was having so much fun.
  • The ride makes you delightfully dizzy and really does feel like you traveled through time at the ending.
  • My favorite part was the zero g roll that feels like spinning while doing a somersault.
  • Spinning through inversions is an experience no other coaster in this country can replicate.
  • If you start out facing backwards, you often do a backflip on the corkscrew as your rotation is usually sideways at that point.

Performance

Vs. other coasters at Silver Dollar City

Make sure you ride this in the back row to get the best airtime on the drop, as well as off balancing your weight to get the most spinning.

tate nortman

The first drop is incredible, especially in the back row, giving insanely good ejector airtime while sideways.

Tobin Billings

The spinning is not a lot but it definitely makes no 2 rides the same, with laterals and airtime pulling you in every which direction.

TheClassicRemake Man

This ride has a crazy first drop must ride in the back for wild ejector, great variety of inversions launches are weak but not a major part of the ride for me spinning is fun and didnt make me sick a...

Danny Miller

Drop is extremely extreme but the launches disappointed and the attendant stapled me, so my airtime was limited.

Clayton Rosone

Don’t get me wrong that first drop is crazy but the ride is too smooth in my opinion.

Ryan B

• Harness and seat: Very comfortable! (I’m 5’4" and 127 pounds)

Simon Bailey Cunningham

If you’re in the back it rattles a little, but in the front it’s SUPER smooth.

Richard Aldridge

It’s really smooth and a ride that always puts a smile on my face.

Cali Thoosie

Mock Rides really likes to throw you into a couple of their elements, which creates some good ejector, but can feel a little jarring.

XscreamThrills

It’s intense, but that’s certainly not the focal point - SDC is a family park, after all, so it doesn’t need to be a tough ride.

Noah Gar

• Intensity: Tons!! (Great for me personally, but I could see how it might make someone sick if they get motion sickness...

Simon Bailey Cunningham

I think I like it better in the back right seat compared to the left for the drop, but every time was super intense when it jerks you out of the lift station.

Max S.

The ride itself is surprisingly intense and has some of the most unique elements you can experience with the spinning.

Jack Jack J.

Time Traveler is a family friendly coaster, which is to say that it doesn’t fit into the extreme thrill category.  That being said, it’s thrilling enough to appeal to - and titillate - anyone from...

Coaster Critic

Overall, this is a tamer experience than Ride to Happiness, but still a blast and probably my favorite ride in the park.

Your Coaster Friend

...the spinning, lanches, airtime, it’s relentless and calming at the same time, fast but gives awesome hang time, i wish it was a tiny bit longer tho, the second launch feels a little pointless

Brady Kasberg

Pacing was bang average and some of the elements didn’t really do much.

Thomas Stoker

I was expecting much more but the pacing just wasn’t there.

OutlawRun Glazer

• Capacity: The park does an INCREDIBLE job filtering riders through the queue.

Simon Bailey Cunningham

I hit this on a day when there were no lines.

Coaster Nut

The only bad things about it is that it often only has one train going, so the lines barely move and the launches are pretty forceless.

CoasterKiwi

This ride also has long lines because it is not a people mover.

Laroy Leaders
Motion sickness risk

The only drawback was that the spinning gave me slight nausea, so I had to take breaks between rides.

Coaster Nut

With this coaster, however, I was surprised to see how much this coaster doesn’t make you disoriented that much despite what it does.

this ride is nothing like i’ve ever experienced, the spinning, lanches, airtime, it’s relentless and calming at the same time, fast but gives awesome hang time, i wish it was a tiny bit longer tho, the second launch feels a little pointless

Brady Kasberg, Captain Coaster review

I do not enjoy spinning coasters like this usually and though this is an interesting, large, and unusual example, I still did not enjoy it.

David, Captain Coaster review

For sure not the craziest ride out there, but the first drop in the back is absolutely amazing, the twisted hill is awesome & I love the pop into the 2nd launch.

Mr. Roller Coasters, Captain Coaster review

Over all theming is AMAZING and thanks for ac, BUT it was… actually kinda boring and… a bit lame.

Flynn, Captain Coaster review

The first drop in the back, the spinning, the inversions, and much more just all come together to make such a unique ride experience that really is just a blast.

Evangelion Martini, Captain Coaster review

This ride also has long lines because it is not a people mover.
