What riders love
  • The ride seems to quickly take a turn or go over a hill every few seconds, with no time to breathe.
  • This is one of the faster woodies I’ve ever ridden, and the speed run through the station is a nice touch.
  • I feel like this might be the first wooden coaster I’ve ridden that seems to be all about speed and just making you feel like the train is going way too fast for the track and it’s going to derail at any moment.
  • There is also some really immersive and ominous theming in the queue, such as a bunch of evacuation alarms and some destroyed trucks.
  • The unanticipated speed matched with the intense turns and ominous loud rattling sound of the train racing down the track truly make it seem as though you are in an apocalypse escaping zombies or something.
  • Good duration and the best theming I've ever seen at a Six Flags/Cedar Fair park.
  • Ride this one at night; it becomes a lot more fun when the indoor sections become near-blackout in the absence of the sun.
  • It's got this quick pacing and airtime pops that make the ride so fun.
  • Apocalypse is very rough but honestly in a fun way.

Performance

Vs. other coasters at Six Flags Magic Mountain

The ride has pretty good and unique airtime and the sense of speed is truly heightened because you are going through so much wood/buildings.

Zach

From the moment the ride drops off the lift hill you are treated with many doses of intense laterals, disorienting turns and even some surprising pops of floater and ejector airtime.

CoasterKing

The airtimes on this are thing amazing.

California Coaster Addict

The headchoppers, the intensity, the laterals, and the ejector airtime are all surprisingly intense, and then the station flythrough is awesome as well.

Elijah Bacelieri

It’s not going to give you airtime and lateral forces but it’s amazing with its intensity and being out of control.

David

It was a little bumpy in some elements but not notably, and ran much, much smoother than most woodies I’ve been on that aren’t RMC toppers.

John Doe

Also, the seats were very well padded and comfortable, which is probably why the rattle didnt affect me.

Rooted_Dirt me

I will admit it’s a little rough and towards the end of the ride it feels a little dead, but the overall ride experience makes up for it.

Joseph Romero

However, the attendant pushed the lap bar down to the max and the coaster is super rough, and my stomach was in pain for the next hour.

California Coaster Addict

An aggressive ball of energy that has no real idea what it’s doing layout wise and wears itself out before the ride actually ends.

Bryan Bonafede

What continues is an extremely intense ride, with plenty of airtimes that actually catch me off guard.

Joseph Romero

Its kinda fun trying to avoid getting banged around and is intense because of the roughness.

Noah Sanchez

The unanticipated speed matched with the intense turns and ominous loud rattling sound of the train racing down the track truly make it seem as though you are in an apocalypse escaping zombies or...

Cole Coombs

Last half of the layout seemed to be tame and not much positives to it.

Ryan Hanna

It kind of dips and then turns to the left for an underwhelming start, but outside of that, it really picks up the pace and keeps it throughout the course of the ride.

Max S.

the amount of adrenaline you get is masterfull combined with the speed, this ride is actually SOOOO FUUUNNNNN!

Marcelo Milk

Apocalypse has decent pace to it and just the right level of rattle for a wooden.

John Montague

Pretty solid GCI...nice laterals, solid pacing, and pretty enjoyable throughout...missing that next gear, though.

Sean Reardon

Usually the ride is running too slow to give any laterals for me.

Canobie Coaster

However, waiting in the slow-moving queue inside that awful stuffy wooden building is not fun.

Gabe S

I waited 90 minutes to get my elbow bleeding when I had my hands up plus that was running one train and it did not have to be ninety minutes the operations were horrid not my worst though

Probably my favorite wooden coaster that is currently operating.

Alexia Englund, Captain Coaster review

the ride was horrible when i first rided apocalyspe my hips where freaking hurting very badaly i would say 30 minutes it is to rough i like the though the station part the most i hate it

mr random coaster person O'Connor, Captain Coaster review

Then there’s some decent moments, nothing crazy, and then after the station flyby, it just becomes way too rattly and boring.

Gwazi Three Two Five, Captain Coaster review

While the second half kinda dies, the first half is so thrilling to me that the second half needs to calm down a little bit.

Fsoer Realm, Captain Coaster review

I waited 90 minutes to get my elbow bleeding when I had my hands up plus that was running one train and it did not have to be ninety minutes the operations were horrid not my worst though

Leo Dunsmuir, Captain Coaster review

The layout is very fun and the pace is amazing as the train is always flying through each part of the layout.
