Medusa packs a strong punch.
What riders love
  • Fun inversions and a rare sea serpent roll.
  • The first drop was pretty good and the 2nd inversion had crazy lateral airtime.
  • B&M Floorless with a pretty fun, inversion packed layout.
  • In the many times ive ridden this I have never experienced head banging at all, and this ride is just pure fun.
  • It’s a B&M, which means you know it’s going to be a smooth ride.
  • I usually am not a fan of floorless coasters, but this one really defies the odds as it is able to give a ride with good variety and forces while not having headbanging through every inversion.
  • The straight first drop surprisingly provided some floater airtime which was a good start.
  • The first drop on this ride is fantastic as well as the inversions.

Vs. other coasters at Six Flags Discovery Kingdom

The straight first drop surprisingly provided some floater airtime which was a good start.

Erik C.

...about it, such as what was previously mentioned as well as the whip you get off the midcourse break run and the floater airtime you get going down the first drop, but it’s still a bit overrated.

Eli Lassiter Michael

It’s drop has good sustained floater, you get nice whip over the midcourse but the inversions arent great (thats really bad for this ride considering almost every element is an inversion.) They feel...

Ejector Productions

Medusa’s front row gives some nice floater down that drop but in the back it REALLY take your breath away!

@Rickmarine1

This drop is quite tall and has some great floater airtime the whole way down.

Canobie Coaster

i was expecting this coaster to have an amazing first drop but it barely had any forces, the inversions were the things you felt, it was also a very smooth ride

Marco Cornejo

The giant vertical loop is fantastic, the ride is well paced with constant back to back elements, and, like with most modern B&M coasters, it’s consistently smooth.

Coaster101

...Roll however I do think Kraken has better theming and it’s not even close Medusa while being mostly smooth it’s practically a parking lot coaster and they recently started hitting the trim brakes...

David F.

In the back, specifically back left or right corner seats, it’s more intense, smooth, and you get less head banging.

Josiah

I did get a bit of headbanging especially in some inverting elements but it’s not as bad as the older B&Ms.

Shmee

Rode front row, got some pretty bad headbanging, neck pain, and a headache after.

Austin Dhillon

The second half was pretty good and the helixes both gave good forces. Overall really fun and a nice floorless coaster to have around.

Shmee

It’s too forceful for me, I prefer the two B&M loopers at CGA nearby.

David

The first drop is a bit too shallow, and I wish it were sharper, but for the most part, it stayed intense after that.

Max S.

No one talks about the intensity of the ride either. I grayed out a bit on the final helix.

California Coaster Addict

But other than it is not intense and the inversions are weak and disappointing.

Rumham

The second half of the ride has some dead spots, but overall this ride is a lot of fun and very smooth.

Gabe S

...however I do think Kraken has better theming and it’s not even close Medusa while being mostly smooth it’s practically a parking lot coaster and they recently started hitting the trim brakes very hard

David F.

Another great thing was they had two trains running, so there was minimal wait in the station and we got to ride Medusa as many times as we wanted.

HockeyNinja, Captain Coaster review

First ride on this was kinda mid but being generous because I’ve heard ride experiences can change when you ride multiple times.

Gibson Williams, Captain Coaster review

The Medusa station is actually surprisingly well themed for an average Six Flags coaster, with good rock work and foliage around the entrance.

Coaster101, published review

The straight first drop surprisingly provided some floater airtime which was a good start.
