What riders love
  • Feels like a B&M looper thanks to Tennessee Tornado having massive inversions, like a B&M.
  • the first loop is huge, which is what makes it so fun.
  • The inversions really pack a punch and I was dizzy after getting off.
  • That drop is actually crazy and completely caught me off guard, and going underground is so fun.
  • I hadn't really experienced much "free fall feeling" so the drop made me feel like I was about to die.
  • Huge, intense, and an insane first drop surrounded in complete darkness.
  • Also love the theming, especially with it being tucked away into the corner of the park in the trees.
  • Tennessee Tornado has a gorgeous setting in the back corner of the park and it's tracking better than basically every Arrow that's left.
  • I love how the layout reveals itself when you leave the maintenance building after rolling out of the station.

Performance

Vs. other coasters at Dollywood

There wasn’t a moment of headbanging and the first drop actually was profiled to give airtime.

MapleFlakes

Also if you ride in the front, you get a really good pop of ejector going into the brake.

Alex Maxam

The drop going into the tunnel is super unique, and gives good floater in the back.

Ben Lilly

Very short looper with a surprisingly powerful drop and a mad ejector pop into the brake run i find this to be the best arrow looper as its surprisingly smooth with that said it does rattle on the...

Danny Miller

Because you get airtime on that last kind of little bit.

Coaster Fanatic

The ride was super smooth and I greyed out without my head hurting and it even had a pop of ejector air into the break run!

@barthearn5456

yea, it’s an arrow looper with the bulky restraints and some mild headbanging, but it is also very smooth with an amazing first drop.

liam lawyer

What’s also shockingly B&M-like is Tennessee Tornado’s surprisingly smooth ride.

Coaster Critic

I say pointless only because its time has passed so its now pointless this ride does noting unique all I can say positive about it is that Its really smooth for its age.

Stormin Norman

Tennessee Tornado has a reputation for being one of the smoothest Arrow custom loopers out there, one that I largely agree it earns.

Sam Dickson

The first drop was good and the inversions were better than most of the other ones on other loopers, but the ride felt too rough to enjoy.

roller rider

Really good loops but to short one of arrow dynamics best update: just ride it again and it was good but the head banging insanely bad on the last part of the ride

Coaster Dude

It’s filled with great inversions and an intense ride throughout, that wouldn’t feel too rough if it wasn’t for the annoying harnesses.

Ethan Finn

I prefer the front row for its unobstructed view, but the forceful ride that the back half of the train offers is just as fun.

Coaster101

It has a fun first drop that takes you straight through the hillside, the huge vertical loop and then the two quick and intense inversions following the banked turn.

Kw6sTheater

Between the fast pace, crazy good intensity and terrain usage this definitely is my favorite arrow looper and I have a feeling it will stay that way.

Cooper Zimmerman

Good for intro for future thrill seekers!

Ian

After getting pulled over the crest, the train drops just a bit and takes a speedy turn to the right.

Coaster Critic

Once you take the drop into the tunnel it’s relentless inversions and intense speed.

Max S.

This thing is buttery smooth, fast and has a beautiful layout, but it is so short.

Thunderbolt

fairly fast, smooth and intense...

Thomas Stabler

The pacing is relentless.

Ben Lilly

Following this, there is a huge 110 foot tall vertical loop which provides a good amount of positive G’s at the bottom before hauling through a nice rising bank turn to the right.

Coaster Daddy

Unfortunately, the ride is obnoxiously short, but I guess that’s okay if you want to hop back in line, it’s a walk on from my limited experience at the park.

Birb from not Canada

This coaster always runs one train, but the lines are generally not very long to begin with.

Kw6sTheater

Thankfully the ride never had more than a 10 minute wait, so it didn’t feel like a waist of time.

Ben Lilly

Very underrated ride at Dollywood, when I went to Dollywood, it was a walk on.

Lorenzo Perez

Plus, the line is typically pretty short.

Ross Bynum
Motion sickness risk

I used to didn’t like it, because it made me nauseous.

@northalabamarailphotograph7063

The inversions really pack a punch and I was dizzy after getting off.

Arrow has a formula and this ride sticks to it but is surprisingly smooth.

Wolfey Jay, Captain Coaster review

But this ride is so smooth that I actually had a lot of fun riding it.

Mike H., Captain Coaster review

Unfortunately, I am short, so I experienced some headbanging on the uncomfortable restraints.

Sena Coasters, Captain Coaster review

2026: I got a bunch more rides on the Tornado and it’s a bit rough I’m sorry to say, to the point I can’t enjoy re-riding too many times in a row.

David, Captain Coaster review

While I enjoyed my first ride on Tennessee Tornado, my love for the coaster has increased significantly in the 15 years since that ride.

Coaster101, published review

I say pointless only because its time has passed so its now pointless this ride does noting unique all I can say positive about it is that Its really smooth for its age.
