What riders love
  • Where this ride really shines is from the drop off the midcourse through the Zero-G stall, as that is the punchiest, wildest, most action-packed part of the ride.
  • The stall is incredible in cars 2 and 4 getting spun going up into it.
  • Anyways row 7 is by far the best especially going backwards on the incredible stall.
  • I really like that the spinning is controlled and used with intention.
  • The real star of the show was of course the drifting, and the spinning features were definitely used to great effect.
  • The spinning mixed with the speed and overall good layout makes for this coaster to be one of the best in the world.
  • However, there are plenty of pops of air, including a phenomenal one heading backwards off the mid course.
  • Has really nice areas of floater airtime and surprising pops of airtime.

Performance

Vs. other coasters at Universal Studios Hollywood

Very fun world class coaster, air time is great, and the spinning is awesome and immensely accentuates the ride experience.

Noah .

This ride while not having as much airtime as other intamins still has very strong ejector and great inversions.

Max G.

Has really nice areas of floater airtime and surprising pops of airtime.

Reid

However, there are plenty of pops of air, including a phenomenal one heading backwards off the mid course.

Nathan

I was really surprised how much I was yanked out of my seat, especially during the drifting inversions.

@brianscotpatterson2101

Not to mention how glossy smooth and well designed the lapbars are, quite literally being the most comfortable coaster in California.

Ethan Salazar

I got car three both rides and it failed the last “drift” and just stayed straight but it was still so fun and smooth.

Peter Glenn Mihelich

I thought I would get nauceous or dizzy but it was comfortable!

Zeke Siff

Went on this the other day during my first visit to Universal 🤩 found it wayyyy smoother than what I was expecting.

@0becca0

Depending on the train/car there is a more or less pronounced rattle, especially along the final launch, which is pretty weak by the way.

Valentin Schneider

The layout may be short but it packs quite a punch, the star here and what makes it elite is the spinning aspect.

Benjamin Khazaal

Don’t underestimate this beast, it is much crazier on ride than it looks from off.

Coda

...row two, row three to row four, row five to row six, and obviously seven to eight, because my ride in row six was almost as intense as my ride in row eight, and row six is the back row of car three.

themeparknerd

Anyone looking for fast pacing or intensity won’t find it here, but it makes up for it with huge elements and some of the world’s best inversions.

Nathan

Not intense at all as you mentioned, but I think that is by design and works in this situation.

@Paolo_DLR

The spinning mixed with the speed and overall good layout makes for this coaster to be one of the best in the world.

Michael Scantlebury-Jones

It’s also, like I said earlier, the fastest universal coaster on the planet.

Mammoth Club

My only complaints are of the terrible reliability and the few dead spots that exist on the ride.

Bennett Amerikaner

It feels sluggish in some sections but maybe it wasn’t "turned up" all the way.

Valentin Schneider

Should I ride it?

The launches are pretty weak but makes up for it with insane airtime.

Noah ., Captain Coaster review

I don’t know if this is recency bias but I am absolutely in love with this ride. I’ve always loved universal studios hollywood, I grew up going there a lot as a SoCal local.

Benjamin Khazaal, Captain Coaster review

This ride is incredible the elements are sequenced perfectly and are blended well with the drifting.
