What riders love
  • The practical effects are great and totally worth seeing.
  • And the bug bit was funny, the ankle ticklers definitely took me by suprise!
  • The theming, particularly early on, is great.
  • The launch is really punchy, i dont know if it actually is or if the indoor setting just enhances your sense of speed.
  • And that launch was a nice surprise to the dark room.
  • It’s intense, the launch is pretty forceful, and smooth.
  • Great airtime, theming, duration, and a surprisingly long backwards section!
  • You basically do the same layout twice, the second time backwards, which is kind of cool.
  • It's been over a decade since I rode this so I don't remember much, but I know that flying through a dark room was pretty freaky but fun.

Performance

Vs. other coasters at Universal Studios Hollywood

This ride is really fun, has a decent launch, has excellent theming both on and off ride, has solid moments of floater airtime, and is smooth and has comfortable restraints.

Aiden Davenport

Great airtime, theming, duration, and a surprisingly long backwards section!

Zach Payne

Really fun indoor coaster with decent airtime.

Ejector Productions

It’s so fast that you’re almost out of your seat.

@timesplit--ter2742

It’s sad that it ends quickly, and maybe the airtime was a bit too weak...?

Sunny bells

The train is comfortable, the ride is smooth, and the launch is pretty good.

Gabe S

It’s intense, the launch is pretty forceful, and smooth.

Niko Ramos

Unlike some other premier rides it is smooth and comfortable.

Henry Japha

It’s perfectly smooth.

Nathan F

One of the best rides I had in Universal Studios Hollywood; great way to transform a family layout to a high intensity thrill ride.

Billy Bob Boggs Jr.

Intense enough to be exciting for younger and less experienced riders, but not a total snoozefest for those who are.

Rob B.

The coaster part itself is a low-end launched coaster.

Nathan F

It is too short though, but that launch is fricken crazy, I think it feels faster because of the darkness, and also you gotta love that backwards section!

Luke Holbrook

The first time I rode it, I did not know there was going to be a launch so it felt very fast.

Coaster Tortoise

The launch isn’t punchy but in the dark it feels fast and the way it comes in right at the end of Imhotep’s "and now your souls belong to ME!" is so memorable that I knew the exact timing on my most...

Rob B.

Went on this ride once not knowing what to expect lol I already hate rides that are fast so it caught me off guard haha but very fun.

@fitzgerald434

I wouldn’t call its length an issue since it is a shuttle coaster, but I do wish that the backwards portion was a bit faster.

Aiden Davenport

Needs a whole another show scene or coaster run to make it worth the consistently long waits.

Alexia Englund

Should I ride it?

Billy Bob Boggs Jr., Captain Coaster review

A fun launch coaster at Universal Hollywood that is just way too short.

NorCal Coaster Media, Captain Coaster review

It’s been over a decade since I rode this so I don’t remember much, but I know that flying through a dark room was pretty freaky but fun.

Erik C., Captain Coaster review

This one does feel longer and has a better backwards section.

joe m, Captain Coaster review

The ride is very short, with minimal storytelling once it gets going.

Ethan Finn, Captain Coaster review

A fun indoor coaster with good theming, but the experience is let down by the fact that it doesn’t pack much punch after the launch.
