What riders love
  • For nostalgia of the beloved series, experiencing a ride that was inspired by one of the levels in the first Donkey Kong Country game is a dream come true.
  • The track jumping is very well done and the massive Donkey Kong animatronic at the end is fantastic.
  • It feels very Donkey Kong Country.
  • It’s not the most thrilling ride just another solid fun family coaster I laughed for the entire ride.
  • The probably unintentional JANK on this ride is a surprisingly nice feature. Adds to the out-of-control mine cart feel.
  • Very good theming, and it's very janky but in the best way.
  • Disappearing tracks and near misses make for a fun illusion!
  • This was the sleeper hit of my day at Epic Universe.
  • Also features some pretty surprising drops that are good.

Performance

Vs. other coasters at Universal Epic Universe

The first time I went to ride this at epic universe on opening weekend, it was a very smooth coaster.

Grayson Lee

This coaster is very erratic and choppy but not uncomfortable.

Coaster101

It was so beyond jarring that it made the ride very uncomfortable, and unenjoyable.

Disney Matt

Incredible theming, surprising intensity and fun gimmick but during the 45 minute (express) wait I kept thinking of how many times I could be riding Star Dust.

Ben Hietanen

In terms of coasters, this one was the tamest at the park behind Stardust Racers (#1), and Hiccup’s wing gliders, which was way more fun than Mine Cart Madness.

Mike Sarges

Mine Cart Madness is the definition of a family friendly roller coaster, every right to be with its incredible theming, the surprise drops and speed, and the pacing of the ride.

Brian Steinberg

It is just a slow-moving, janky, rattly coaster with lots of block brakes.

Michael M.

Over a 200 minute wait when we went, but we luckily had a fast pass, and skipped the long wait and only waited 25 minutes in total.

Mike Sarges

So, this line can be the longest, and the queue is pretty barebones, except for one animatronic in the middle of the queue.

Brandon L.
Worth the queue

Absolutely NOT worth the wait.

Disney Matt

It’s definitely worth it though, do not skip this ride!!!!

Grayson Lee, Captain Coaster review

all the forces you feel on this are from the ride being a rattle fest not from the actual layout.

Juniper, Captain Coaster review

It is very short and does have quite a shuffle to it, but the theming, the surrounding land, audio, and silliness to it make it one of my personal favorite rides in the park.

Chris Jones, Captain Coaster review

The ride has some thrills, the “jump the track” is cool, and the whole thing just feels fun.

Andrew Clark, Captain Coaster review

This is just a wacky ride from beginning to end, with fun scenes and track elements.

Coaster101, published review

it rides like a mine train that opened in 1976 and its so much fun.
