What riders love
  • amazing first drop and that one corner (you know the one) absolutely throws you out of your seat.
  • Great pacing with surprise bursts of ejector on many turnarounds in the front.
  • The work done recently by Gravity Group allows this coaster to shine.
  • It's effortlessly re-rideable especially since this park often gets short lines.
  • Feels totally out of control like a good woodie should.
  • All the hills, turnarounds and the helix throw around with some great airtime and laterals and while there are some slower moments it still manages to keep throwing some surprisingly good forces at you until the very end.

Performance

Vs. other coasters at Funtown Splashtown U.S.A.

The first drop has wild ejector in the back row, as do the next drop, the speed hill, and the entry to the 2nd turnaround immediately after.

Scott Quisenberry

It’s sad because the first part of the ride is so good with some great ejector air and powerful laterals, but it loses a lot of steam as it goes on and by the end, it dwindles into a boring...

Incredible Coasters

Incredible hill in the middle of the ride that combines great laterals and airtime, followed by a smaller (and more violent) airtime hill.

guiderex

It’s got some great moments of air and laterals in the first half.

Ethan S.

amazing first drop and that one corner (you know the one) absolutely throws you out of your seat.

Brooks Oliver

It’s honestly better than the Thunderbolt at SFNE, and has lots of Airtime!

@GH0STtoast

It’s remarkably smooth for a big woodie of its Coaster War-era vintage.

Matt McIrvin

Even though it’s wood, was the smoothest coaster I was ever on!

@soniclovesamygirl

There are a few bumps, but it’s nothing extreme and just adds to the out of control feel of the ride.

Scott Quisenberry

It’s a good compact design, but I found it overly rough recently, even for a woodie--so much so that I got a mild headache after one ride.

@georgeoliver4704

Cooper Zimmerman

Great pacing with surprise bursts of ejector on many turnarounds in the front.

guiderex

The second half dies a little which is why I don’t like it as much as some other CCIs, but it’s still an awesome little thing.

...for the ride itself, they keep the layout simple to let the thrills and excitement do the talking, and it’s always worth the wait (which in my experiences, if there is one at all, is never too long).

Ethan S., Captain Coaster review

A fun, but kind of odd wooden coaster in a small little park in Maine.
