What riders love
  • There are plenty of great near misses, especially at the end with the tunnels. Lowkey underrated night ride.
  • i really like carolina goldrusher, it is a good family ride that offers a nice relaxing ride expierence.
  • I think that this was the first coaster I ever rode as a kid, purely because it didn’t go up high and didn’t go upside down.
  • The helices on this mine train go through some cool structural scenery, and there's a surprise pop of airtime towards the end.
  • Not too much forces but there is some fun moments on this long ride through the woods.
  • Its got two stupidly intense helices and a great tunnel drop finale.
  • The final helix is crazy it will aburbtly throw around.also the sense of speed in the second half is unreal.
  • It was still pretty intense, taking advantage of the fact that you feel much faster when you’re going through a tunnel.

Performance

Vs. other coasters at Carowinds

The helices on this mine train go through some cool structural scenery, and there’s a surprise pop of airtime towards the end.

Miles Hawkins

That’s followed by a drop down into a tunnel, which provides a nice pop of floater airtime in the back of the train.

Mostly Coasters

I felt very comfortable on this ride and would suggest it for people with kids but not teens or adults.

Cason Fraley

Surprisingly smooth for this type of ride, especially this old.

Jonathan Stafford

The helix certainly isn’t buttery smooth, but as you’re tossed around a bit, it definitely feels more fun than painful.

Coaster Critic

I barely fit on this ride and it did have a few questionable transitions so that’s why I’d call it a little uncomfortable.

Carter Eckhart

It is definitely better and more intense at night, though the very back feels way less intense than say, the 3rd to last seats.

stxrry figures

It was still pretty intense, taking advantage of the fact that you feel much faster when you’re going through a tunnel.

nobody important

Because you go into a decently intense helix finale.

Caiden Brauchler

My one real complaint is the restraints which are way too tight a lot of the time, but the rest of the ride is fun and pretty relaxing.

Sam Dickson

I’m putting this one as a low-end mine train compared to others I’ve ridden but I would also be happy to bring a future kid on this one as an introduction to roller coasters.

Max S.

The final helix is crazy it will aburbtly throw around.also the sense of speed in the second half is unreal.

Wyatt Flynn

As the wooden beams whiz by overhead, the ride’s speed feels even faster than it is.

Coaster Critic

Well paced and fun, but wow these seats are uncomfortable and tiny!

Eric Esty

I’ve rode this ride almost 65 times, and it’s much faster than it seems in this video....

@ultimateinvanity

It’s kinda slow but has some fun moments like going through the tunnel.

Cason Fraley

It’s first half is pretty slow.

Caiden Brauchler

I mean, it’s a quick line because of the capacity, and it’s fun.

Cillian Espinosa

At least when you’re sitting on final brake run for 34 minutes you can freshen ur breath with a used piece of gum, so you’ll die from a hornet attack with a minty mouth.

Jordan Pelaez

The wait time was really long, even with a fast pass.

Rowan L.

lap bars and seats are very uncomfortable (if ur not a child u WILL slide forward and bump ur butt everywhere) we got stuck for like two minutes on this as well????

andrea, Captain Coaster review

With modest dimensions, but a relatively lengthy and satisfying ride, Carolina Goldrusher is a crowd-pleaser for a wide range of guests.

This would have been a cute little Arrow Mine Train were it not for the awful lap bar that just crushes your lap.
